Research DescriptionBriggs' research combines theoretical models with laboratory or field observations and experiments to understand the factors affecting the dynamics of animal populations. Her group is interested in how stage-specific processes, life-history traits and behaviors of individuals translate into effects on dynamics at the population level. Her lab is working on a number of projects involving either disease-host or parasitoid-host interactions, all in natural systems in California. |
BiographyProfessor Briggs is the Duncan and Suzanne Mellichamp Chair in Systems Biology. Her research insterests are in theoretical ecology, population dynamics, systems biology and disease ecology. Before joining UCSB she was an Assoicate Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at UC Berkeley. Selected PublicationsSee complete list of publications |
