Thuc-Quyen Nguyen receives 2010 American Competitiveness and Innovation Fellowship award

Professor Thuc-Quyen Nguyen (Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry)  has received a 2010 American Competitiveness and Innovation Fellowship (ACI) award from NSF.

For the third consecutive year, the Division of Materials Research (DMR) of the National Science Foundation has recognized faculty members who have demonstrated a combination of transformative research accomplishments and outstanding contributions toward mentoring and broadening participation of women, underrepresented minorities and/or people with disabilities. This recognition, called the American Competitiveness and Innovation (ACI) Fellowship, is based on recommendations from DMR Program Directors. ACI Fellows receive a monetary supplement to their current grants plus a two-year extension to a grant "for special creativity".  The objective of such extensions is to offer an enhanced capability to pursue adventurous, “high-risk” opportunities in the same general research area, but not necessarily covered by the original proposal.
